Diesel engine designers face the difficult task of designing efficient and economical engines that simultaneously meet the latest CO2 and NOx emission standards, as well as ensure lower fuel consumption. Modern drive units often operate under heavy loads, which can be harmful to moving parts, so it is important to ensure long-term lubrication in all conditions.
In recent years, there has been an increase in the popularity of low-viscosity truck engine oils (such as 0W-XX and 5W-XX), which was previously unheard of in this segment. According to the POPiHN report, in 2022 the share of 0W-XX and 5W-XX engine oils on the truck market was 13%, and a year later it was already 15%. In response to the growing demand for oils with a low viscosity class of 5W-XX, ORLEN OIL has introduced ULTOR EFFECTIVE 5W-20 to its offer. A synthetic engine oil with MAN M3977 and SCANIA LDF-5 approval. The new lubricant is intended for vehicles meeting the EURO 6 standard and equipped with a DPF exhaust gas treatment system. It will be used in diesel engines of trucks and heavy equipment. The high viscosity index of 146, ensures high durability of the oil film, thanks to which ULTOR EFFECTIVE 5W-20 provides protection of the drive unit in the most difficult operating conditions. The additives used in the oil production process ensure engine cleanliness and ensure that the oil maintains its properties and operating parameters in the long term. It is worth mentioning the low HTHS coefficient of 2.7 mPA, which is a key indicator directly responsible for fuel efficiency, which translates into lower fuel consumption. The benefits of using ULTOR EFFECTIVE 5W-20 will translate into extended change intervals, easier engine start-up at low temperatures and reduced fuel consumption.
